Prayer Sparks

"Prayer Sparks" is a phrase I use for ideas for prayer and intercession that I believe will "spark" a desire for others to pray and agree for the same need or vision. I have written many of these and have sent them out to a few of the ministry groups together with inspiring pictures.

Here I will just have the prayer sparks all in one place, minus the pictures so that when you want to pray there will be plenty of ideas for prayer needs and ultimately as we join our faith answers to those prayers.

We now ask our Heavenly Father ~

* to draw us into genuine communion with Him. We don't want to look to others to provide the direction that only He can give.

* to shine His light on our souls. I pray that we will choose not to hide any thought or attitude from His presence.

* to show us how to be a blessing to others and to Him. I pray for Him to guide us, give us wisdom and strength, and give us what is needed to do His will.

* to empower us to work in partnership with the Holy Spirit and forgive us for the times when we have tried to minister to others in our own strength.

* to help us follow only His ways and not our own or others' agendas. I pray that we want to be led by His Spirit even if it requires detours we didn't expect.

* to cause us to thirst for Him as the deer pants for the water.

* to teach us how to enter His Sabbath rest and to provide those quiet times in which we can regain strength from His presence.

* to touch every festering wound in our souls with His love.  May we also open our hearts to His Spirit's healing touch.

* to help us to be more sensitive to His Spirit's reproof when we are heading in the wrong direction.

* to make us intercessors and share His burdens with us for our towns and our nation  and give us the sensitivity to pray according to His will.

* to fan the flames of the Spirit in our hearts and let us burn with zeal for Him.

* to do a new thing in His church - to let the Holy Spirit, our Great Sanctifier turn up the heat and melt away the dross until we reflect the image and character of His Son, Jesus Christ.

* to heal our nation and our world. Let a great awakening begin in our churches as it has been prophesied. I also ask that the power of His presence be felt in the streets and homes of our cities, towns and villages as He delivers many from violence, immorality, corruption, greed and social injustice.

* to use us to change our world for Christ. After we have been drawn by Him into His presence, I pray that we will follow Jesus into the harvest fields.

* to make us fearless warriors in His army and to forgive us for cowering in the face of challenges that we know He will give us the strength and wisdom to overcome.
